Plant of Health Palm Food 20L

Manufacturer: Batphone

Given the fashion and demand for palms and cycads, both indoors and out, we recognised the need for a high performance foliar fertiliser while continuing our path towards more environmentally responsible practices. Palm Food takes conventional, reactive 12N-4P-12K fertiliser and blended it with organic compounds extracted from 100% pure Tasmanian bull kelp to give you a product that has enormous plant nutrition, coupled with minimal leaching and excellent up take.

The organic compounds buffer the NPK and support soil fertility, while a range of natural growth hormones delivers complete nutrition to the plant.

Seaweed is also excellent for stress relief, plant strength and mineral supplementation.

Added trace elements ensures luxury uptake of these minerals maintaining balance and plant health. Magnesium and Potassium deficiency is quite common in palms and can be difficult to diagnose when several deficiencies overlap. In plants and photosynthetic organisms, Mangnesium2+ has the vital role of being the coordinating ion in the chlorophyll molecule. It is surrounded by nitrogen rich amine molecules and is essential in most plant functions.

Palms & Cycads require some liquid magnesium and potassium supplementation, especially when grown in pots, to ensure maximum photosynthesis, leaf development and inturn sugar production.

It is essential for seed germination and regulates the uptake of a number of elements in the plant.

Plants deficient in magnesium and potassium display symptoms, affecting the older leaves first, such as thin leaves, yellowing or orange spots or necrosis, withered or frizzled leaves can be seen.

Discolouration begins on older leaves, and then affects younger growth. If untreated the palms may die.

Deficiency is most common on light sandy soils which can be low in available minerals and nutrient.

Symptoms may also arise where poor root establishment has occurred.
